Pointers

9.2 FEATURES OF POINTERS

(i) Pointers save the memory space.

(ii) Execution time with pointer is faster because data is manipulated with the address, i.e. direct

access to memory location.

(iii) e memory is accessed eciently with the pointers. e pointer assigns the memory space

and also releases it.

(iv) Pointers are used with data structures. ey are useful for representing two-dimensional and

multi-dimensional arrays.

(v) We can access elements of any type of array irrespective of its subscript range.

(vi) Pointers are used for le handling.

(vii) Pointers are used to allocate memory dynamically.
