10.16 DIRECT RECURSION

In this type, only one function is involved which calls itself until the given condition is true. e reader

can refer to program numbers 10.45 and 10.46. Following programming example is given on Direct

recursion.

Explanation:

In the above program, a function trinum() is dened which calls itself. An integer is en-

tered through the keyboard and it is stored in the variable x. In function trinum(), the

function calls itself and decreases the value of x passed by one. e return values are added

to variable f. When the value of x becomes zero, the recursive process ends and the total sum
