Schedule Calculations

Objectives

On completion of this chapter, you should be able to:

1. Understand the meaning and significance of critical path;

2. Understand the meaning and significance of float; and

3. Use forward pass and backward pass to compute float.

Once a suitable network is drawn, with durations for all activities, the next step is to find out whether it meets the target completion date and what kind of flexibility exists in starting or ending these activities.
