I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Wrapping Up
While the main purpose of this chapter was to set up a desktop app, it also demonstrated how we can share code and data models between the platforms. When it comes to building applications that need to span the platforms, using Core Data reduces the complexity just that much more.
Coming up in the next chapter, we’ll take a quick detour into the powerful features of Cocoa that allowed us to build this desktop application with virtually no code. In addition, we’ll add iCloud syncing and some other features that are unique to the desktop.
