Making an Egyptian Crown
The Egyptian crown in this example was created for Lord Edgar, an Egyptian priest, in The Mystery of Irma Vep (Figure 10-1). The shape of the crown was based on the blue war crown worn by Egyptian Pharaohs and made from molded Fosshape.
Procedure for Making an Egyptian Crown
- Materials Required
- Fosshape #300 or #600
- Mold for creating the crown (a tailor’s ham and sofa-cushion foam were used for this crown)
- Steam iron
- Scissors
- Push or straight pins
- Sewing machine
- Needle and thread
- Outer fabric
- Lining fabric (e.g., felt)
