I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

START TO FINISH
I’m a big fan of simplicity, especially in portraiture. In a well-done portrait, one person sitting in front of a blank wall or plain paper backdrop can be incredibly impactful. With the distractions stripped away, the only thing to focus on is the person in the frame. That allows the photographer and the viewer to see who that person is in a clear and straightforward way.
When I’m photographing someone, I want to see them not everything around them. I want telling their story to be my primary focus. That’s why I’m such a fan of a minimalistic approach. I feel the same way about lighting. Lighting doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful. With just one light and one modifier, you can create a multitude of looks. ...
