The Fundamentals
In this section, we focus on learning about the three most important tools that are part of a typical Jekyll workflow: Markdown, Liquid and Git. These three combined allow for most of the funtionality present in a static web site. We go through each of those components in detail, and talk about the how these technologies are implemented in a static blog. This section is heavily focused on teaching the basic principles behind the tools that are routinely used in a blog to create new styles or content. Without this early emphasis, it would become very difficult to create new projects or apply Jekyll to an idea and learn in depth about these tools.
