Cryptologic Aspects of German Intelligence Activities in South America during World War II
Taking into acccount the recommendation of
the subcommittee, Admiral Wilkinson, as chair-
man of the Joint Intelligence Committee, recom-
mended to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) on 18
June 1942 that presidential approval be obtained to
eliminate all cryptanalytic efforts in agencies other
than Army, Navy, and FBI.
