Chapter 19: Establishing Standard Procedures
A good way to think about standard procedures is using an analogy of a traffic light. We have all waited at a busy intersection where a traffic light regulates the flow of traffic, but when that traffic light malfunctions, the wait can get much longer. Conversely, we may have been stopped at a traffic light with no other cars in sight, left wondering why we are just sitting here waiting for the light to turn green. The point is obvious: having the right amount of procedures is helpful, while having too many procedures is a waste.
