Insight mindset
The pace of analytics is fast. People want access to their data in short order and have the expectation that it is both not difficult, and that unnecessary barriers are put in place by the custodians of said data. Of course, neither of these positions is typically true, but they are perpetuated and compounded upon to the point that trust is eroded, and adoption of analytics suffers. There are many symptoms of this; one such example is a proliferation of dashboards and reports that are not used. They are created on an ad-hoc basis, for a narrow use case, and quickly lose value and become stale.
