Chapter 6. Deploy additional domains and forests

In previous chapters, you learned how to deploy a forest and domain, set up networking, add users and groups, and add additional domain controllers, including read-only domain controllers, to that initial domain. In this chapter, you’ll learn how to deploy additional domains and subdomains (also known as child domains) and how to configure cross-forest trusts.

We’ll start with our existing TreyResearch.net domain and add a child domain to it, NorthAmerica.TreyResearch.net. Then we’ll create another tree in our forest by adding WingtipToys.com to the forest. Finally, as a result of Trey Research acquiring Tailspin Toys, we’ll add a cross-forest trust to the TailspinToys.com domain.
