So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 3WatchKit Extension Overview
Notifications and the Now Playing information are cool and all, but that’s not why you bought this book. You want your app’s icon on your users’ Apple Watches, and to do that you need a WatchKit extension. Instead of being standalone apps that exists on their own on the watch, Apple Watch apps (for now) need to exist as a part of iPhone apps. When your users install your app on their phones, they’ll be able to install the watch app on their watches. This will add an app icon to their home screen and from there they can move the icon around, launch the app at will, and show off to their friends.
