Escalation procedures
A critical component of the incident response plan is the escalation procedures. Escalation procedures outline who is responsible for moving an event or series of events from just anomalies in the information system to an incident. The CSIRT will become burned out if they are sent to investigate too many false positives. The escalation procedures ensure that the CSIRT is effectively utilized and that personnel are only contacted if their expertise is required.
