Chapter 7
Interfacing Circuits between t Logic Gates of Same Family, Different Families and Types
OBJECTIVE
In Chapter 6, we learnt the following topics: RTL, DTL, TTL, ECL, ICL, HTL, NMOS and CMOS, different types of the logic circuits, difference between different families of gates. In this chapter, we shall learn about speed, propagation delay, operating frequency, power dissipated per gate, supply voltage levels, and operational voltage levels that define logic states 1 and 0.
We shall learn in this chapter how to make interconnections between the logic gates to its next stage of same type as well as to the next stages of different families in the same type. We shall also learn interfacing circuits to the net stages of different types. ...
