During the Inception phase the team lead needs to work with the project sponsors to secure a work environment that will maximize the effectiveness of the team. This chapter describes various work environments and tooling alternatives that you should consider adopting. Note that some of the activities described in this chapter may be performed early in the Construction phase. This depends on your organization’s funding rules; you may not be allowed to start organizing your physical or virtual environments until funding has been secured, or your Inception phase may be so short that you simply don’t have time to get to some of this work.
