Abstract
The emergence of Industry 4.0, has revolutionized manufacturing processes, leading to the development of smart factories that integrate advanced technologies and data-driven systems. These smart factories aim to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability by leveraging the power of automation, connectivity, and intelligent decision-making. One crucial aspect of smart factories is the focus on energy efficiency, as the industrial sector is a significant consumer of energy and a contributor to environmental pollution. This abstract provides an overview of the concept of smart factories and explores the role of energy efficiency within the context of Industry [4.0]. Smart factories encompass a range of cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), big data analytics, and robotics [1, 2]. By interconnecting various components within the manufacturing ecosystem, these technologies enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, optimized resource allocation, and seamless communication across the entire production chain. Because of this interconnection, enormous volumes of data can be more easily collected and analyzed, enabling intelligent automation and data-driven decision-making. Energy ...
