So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Introduction
There’s a writer named Anne Lamott who says in order to get started you have to write really shitty first drafts. And I think the same applies to documentary. When you have this massive amount of footage, you have to come up with your initial outline of how you think it’s all going to come together. I know that whatever I come up with first is not actually going to be what works. But you just have to come up with your first big guess and be okay with the fact that it will fail, because you’ll learn something from that.
