In this chapter we focus on analyzing editing and assembly procedures in various audiovisual pieces, including fiction, news items, commercials, video clips, etc. We also take a look at examples of new formats designed to be viewed on the Internet and mobile phones. These are of interest because they are an indication of current trends. Although the choice of examples is somewhat arbitrary, the grouping by formats provides a reference to the types of sequence and their functions, which helps us determine in each case the various styles and formats with which to approach them.
