Chapter 3. Pieces Parts
This chapter provides an overview of the many “pieces and parts” that make up a circuit. The chapter opens with a thorough description of each the components of a semiconductor: diodes, forward voltage, reverse breakdown voltage, transistors, switches, saturation, linear amplifiers, field effect transistors, printed circuit board, and others. It then explains management of power and heat and how to prevent heat from ruining a design—by understanding heat sinks, radiation, convection or conduction, and how the PCB can be used as a heat sink.
