YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED that sometimes the components you work with do not match the pictures of the components shown in the book. This section gives an introduction to common packaging used for electronic components. A single component such as the SCR can be packaged in a variety of formats. Each package provides an advantage of one form or another. It might be how it fits on a circuit board or how it handles power.
This is an overview meant to help you be flexible. Get used to reading the labels. Just because it looks different does not mean that it is different.
