9Emerging Technologies for COVID-19

Abstract

This chapter discusses the ideas that have emerged from infectious diseases like COVID-19. This chapter talks about solutions to avoid and manage the uncertainty of infectious diseases like COVID-19 for the global public health. Through this chapter, we will discuss about the emerging technologies for handling the pandemic challenges. The emerging technologies that can tackle these key challenges are the technologies like Blockchain, Drone facilities, Mobile APK, Wearable Sensing, Internet of Healthcare Things, Artificial Intelligence, 5G and Virtual Reality. Soon these technologies will be seen to manage the pandemic challenges. We will also discuss the comparison of these technologies with the help of their applications, challenges and their solutions in context with COVID-19.
