PART 5.ABOUT MY EXIT AND WHAT COMES AFTER
- 15. My alternative exit routes
- 16. My exit processes
- 17. My next project
Everything has an end, and if your entrepreneurial project survives the first, challenging years, maybe a time will come when you will make an exit. This can be done in one big strike, gradually or partially – the possibilities are many and include divestment, strategic sales, merger, management buy-out and stock exchange listing.
In this chapter, we study these and other forms of exit, and we discuss the considerations and exercises that must happen before a successful exit such as a trade sale or an IPO can take place.
In the last chapter of the book, we look at what you as a (so far) successful entrepreneur can do with your life and work after a successful exit. Most often, the priorities seem to be combinations of starting new companies, spending money on fun lifestyle projects, investing financially and doing good. That sounds like great fun and gratification, and generally it is. But there are snakes in this paradise and we also spend some words on them.
