So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

While phones used to be very utilitarian (for example, wow, I can make a phone call), things have changed dramatically over the past few years. Therefore, although you could try to create applications that are focused on functionality, they probably would not attract a large audience unless they had a great user interface.
