So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Section 3Sizing Software Deliverables
Software projects consist of far more than just source code. A modern software project is surrounded by a host of artifacts and deliverable items that need to be both sized and estimated. Software projects can include text-based documents, graphical and multimedia materials, source code, and test cases and test scripts. In addition, although these are not planned artifacts, software projects are also accompanied by large numbers of bugs or defects. Here, too, both sizing and estimating technologies are needed.
This section discusses the kinds of sizing methods that are found in software cost-estimating tools for dealing with all classes of deliverable items and all major kinds of software artifacts.
