I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Although experimentation has played an important role in the development of the ideas in this book, I have also benefited from the experience, wisdom, and generosity of many people. The work began in 1992 when I walked into Eric von Hippel’s classroom at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). At the time, I was a doctoral student in electrical engineering and was curious about why there was an entire course dedicated to understanding the process of technological innovation. Little did I know that I would later dedicate my career to researching the questions that Eric introduced in the course.
