So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Background
So, why write or study code that can be purchased off the shelf? As a programmer, I believe in the importance of knowing how programs on my computers and servers work, even if I didn't write the programs. I think all programmers by nature enjoy seeing new functions in code; it is educational and empowering. My goal with this book is reader understanding, perhaps with a measure of career development built in.
And if it is your goal to achieve application security using the basic Oracle Database and Java services, without going out to spend your tens of thousands of dollars, this book will give you a foundation for doing just that. You can write secure Oracle applications with Java!
