Managers: People, Processes, and Structures
Our goal in this chapter is to discuss the changes that are needed to support the extended enterprise. Specifically, we identify the different expectations, roles, and mindset that must become part of management’s approach to transforming a firm into a model extended enterprise member. Our premise is that these changes require a different breed of procurement manager/executive. We believe that it is very difficult to effect organizational change without having people who support the processes and have the skills, competencies, and attitudes that are consistent with the principles of the extended enterprise.
