I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Deploying WLANs at Home: A Case Study
As a case study, I will describe a series of events that actually happened to me when I was visiting friends after Christmas 2002.
The friends had broadband Internet access via a cable modem, which was attached to their only PC (they had another PC, but it was not part of the home LAN…it turns out that it wouldn't have worked if they tried to connect it, for reasons that will become clear in a moment). My friends had purchased an AP so that they could use their laptop at home, but they were frustrated because even though their laptop worked wirelessly in the office, it did not work at all at home.
