When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Using the Google Places API
From the official website (https://developers.google.com/places/web-service/intro), we can see the following:
"The Places API is a service that returns information about places using HTTP requests. Places are defined within this API as establishments, geographic locations, or prominent points of interest."
This service can be used in several ways to get information about places:
- Get a list of places based on a user's location or a search string
- Get detailed information about a specific place, including user reviews
- Access to the millions of place-related photos stored in Google's Place database
- Query prediction service for text-based geographic searches, returning suggested queries as users type, and automatically ...
