In the previous chapter, we explored GQL value expressions, which enable us to derive values tailored to user requirements. To further enhance this capability, this chapter introduces a variety of essential functions for effective data manipulation and analysis. These functions can be employed for aggregating records such as counting the total number of entries or determining the maximum value, performing scientific calculations such as computing the logarithm of a number, or constructing values such as generating a Time value using the DateTime function. Graph database providers may offer more functions to facilitate system usability.
