15.1 Introduction: Modulated Delay Effects

This chapter introduces several different audio effects which use a time-varying, or modulated, delay. These effects expand on the delay effects described in Chapters 11, 12, and 13, while making use of the delay buffers and fractional delay processing discussed in Chapter 14. Furthermore, the individual effects presented in this chapter are used in combination as the processing blocks for algorithmic reverb in Chapter 16.
