While it is certainly possible to build one’s own Hall-effect sensors using transducer elements and discrete signal-processing components, using techniques such as those described in Chapter 3, it is usually unnecessary to do so for most applications. Because Hall-effect sensors are widely used, a number of semiconductor companies include a variety of integrated Hall-effect sensors among their standard product offerings.
