I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Layer 2 – Data link layer
The next layer is the data link, which defines how the data transfer should happen between two nodes that are directly connected. It is responsible for the following:
- Detection of communication errors in the first layer
- Correction of the physical errors
- Control of the flow/transmission rate between nodes
- Connection termination
Some real-world examples of data link layers definition are the ones for Ethernet (802.3) and Wi-Fi (802.11).
