Acknowledgments
These are always tricky to write, as invariably, someone is unintentionally left out and there is a potential for hurt feelings. I still laugh when I recall David M. Darst—my friend and colleague— sending the phonebook to his publisher for his acknowledgments when he wrote his bestselling books. “Anthony, it is for people to see their name in print and hopefully go out and buy the book!” It was a good strategy, but I will keep mine to an Academy Awards acceptance speech level of length.
I want to thank my Mom and Dad—Al and Marie Scaramucci—for raising me and putting me in the position to excel in life. They are basically a cheerleading squad and support group rolled into one. They did their best, so now I am tasked with trying to do mine. My wonderful wife, Deidre, for being kind and loving, and for helping me put down my phone and focus on being present. My children—AJ, Amelia, Anthony, and Nicholas—for being in my life; my bet is you aren’t responsible for that, but you are however, responsible for a good part of your own destinies so I want to thank all of you for being so wonderful. Additionally, I would like to thank my mom-in-law, June Ball, for accepting me in the family and loving me like a son.
