One of the most interesting sideshows to the COVID-19 pandemic was the concept of “vaccine diplomacy” (Hotez & Narayan, 2021), with many nations using their strengths in vaccine manufacturing and distribution as a means to advance their geopolitical interests (Sparke & Levy, 2022; Su et al., 2021).
