Science has a diversity problem, and I don’t mean a gender or ethnic diversity problem, but a diversity problem in thought, style, and personality. When I started writing and editing papers for the Journal of Astrological Big Data Ecology, I was laughed at and scolded for giving a platform to voices who want to put a black hole at the center of the Earth. Science does not advance in small p-hacked papers so that you can gain tenure. Science conquers the world through bold women and men with bold ideas and a passable amount of academic scrutiny.
