WebSphere Application Server is a powerful and flexible platform for deploying a variety of enterprise software solutions based on the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) specification. Many of the largest companies in the world run their most critical applications on WebSphere Application Server, and more are joining their ranks every day. It has grown into a robust environment that is suited to hosting a broad range of applications, from simple web applications to large-scale transaction-based systems.
