This appendix serves programmers who are migrating from MATLAB to Python and interested in converting their MATLAB scripts to equivalent Python programs using numpy.
MATLAB [Mat20b] is a popular commercial software that is widely used to perform computation in various fields of science including image processing. Both MATLAB and Python are interpreted languages. They both are dynamic typed, i.e., variables do not have to be declared before they are used. They both allow fast programming.
