In June 2020, IBM announced it would no longer offer facial recognition software. This came from CEO Arvind Krishna’s letter to Congress. In it, he talked about how IBM had a long history of supporting civil rights, such as in terms of diversity with hiring and refusing to support Jim Crow laws.
