Background

The Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) started in 1997 as a global, open, multidisciplinary, non-profit organization focused on establishing standards to support the acquisition, exchange, submission and archival of clinical research data and metadata. The mission of CDISC is “to develop and support global, platform-independent data standards that enable information system interoperability to improve medical research and related areas of healthcare.”
