Physical and Environmental Security Controls

Since information is frequently in electronic form, organizations seldom recognize the importance of physical and environmental security. Some organizations have the misperception that they have adequately safeguarded their environment by simply placing security guards at the main door or using electronic key badges at the entrances. This is a good start; however, with other threats on the rise, physical and environmental security should be treated as important as other information assurance threats.
