In this chapter we will look at the technical security found within an organisation, looking at network basics first as underpinning knowledge for cybersecurity, and then moving on to network security, cryptography, cloud, containers, zero trust and PAM.
While those working in security do not always require technical skills, having a basic understanding of the terminology, concepts and systems can help to understand what they are for and how they can be used. It can also help with discussions with IT or other technical teams to understand a request or issue.
