I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Data compression has been an enabling technology for the information revolution, and as this revolution has changed our lives, data compression has become more and more a ubiquitous, if often invisible, presence. From mp3 players, to smartphones, to digital television and movies, data compression is an integral part of almost all information technology. This incorporation of compression into more and more of our lives also points to a certain degree of maturation and stability of the technology.
