11Practical Design Examples in Modern Wireless System Design
11.1 Introduction
In this chapter, practical design examples will be presented to illustrate the importance of the design concepts and techniques discussed in the previous chapters regarding Internet of Things (IoT) and wireless solution development. These concepts are essential for understanding how to effectively implement technology in real‐world applications. Two projects related to IoT and wireless technologies for smart cities will be discussed in detail. As urban areas continue to grow, smart cities require innovative technologies to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and economic growth. These technologies are designed to optimize various systems, including energy consumption and transportation, while also promoting the use of renewable energy and sustainable practices.
IoT plays a crucial role in this context, enabling the monitoring and management of critical infrastructure. By connecting devices and systems, IoT facilitates real‐time data collection and analysis, leading to more informed decision‐making and improved service delivery. The two specific projects explored in this chapter are the Smart Lamp Post (SLP) and the Smart Radio Frequency Identification System (SRFID). The SLP integrates lighting management with environmental monitoring, while the SRFID System enhances asset tracking management. These examples demonstrate the seamless integration of hardware, firmware, webpage design, artificial intelligence ...
