254. Specifying the HTTP method

We can indicate the HTTP method that's used by our request using the following methods from HttpRequest.Builder:

• GET(): This method sends the request using the HTTP GET method, as shown in the following example:

HttpRequest requestGet = HttpRequest.newBuilder()  .GET() // can be omitted since it is default  .uri(URI.create("https://reqres.in/api/users/2"))  .build();

• POST(): This method sends the request using the HTTP POST method, as shown in the following example:

HttpRequest requestPost = HttpRequest.newBuilder()  .header("Content-Type", "application/json")  .POST(HttpRequest.BodyPublishers.ofString(    "{\"name\": \"morpheus\",\"job\": \"leader\"}"))  .uri(URI.create("https://reqres.in/api/users")) .build(); ...
