So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Funktionen sind das A und O der JavaScript-Programmierung. Das Prinzip, einen Programmteil in einen Wert zu packen, hat viele mögliche Verwendungszwecke. Damit können wir umfangreichere Programme strukturieren, Wiederholungen vermeiden, Unterprogramme mit Namen versehen und diese Unterprogramme voneinander trennen.
Die naheliegende Anwendung von Funktionen besteht in der Erweiterung des Vokabulars durch neue Definitionen. In der Prosa gilt es gewöhnlich als schlechter Stil, neue Wörter zu erfinden, doch in der Programmierung ist dies unverzichtbar.
Der aktive Wortschatz eines durchschnittlichen deutschen Muttersprachlers wird auf 12.000 bis 16.000 Wörter geschätzt. Nur wenige Programmiersprachen haben so viele eingebaute Befehle. ...
