So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Wie das Spiel aus dem vorherigen Kapitel zeigt, können Sie damit schon sehr weit kommen. Den Knoten können wir jedes gewünschte Aussehen verleihen, indem wir ihnen teilweise transparente Hintergrundbilder hinzufügen. Mit dem Format transform ist es sogar möglich, Knoten zu drehen und zu verzerren.
Dabei aber verwenden wir das DOM für etwas, wofür es ursprünglich gar nicht gedacht war. Einige Aufgaben, z. B. eine Linie zwischen zwei beliebigen Punkten zu zeichnen, lassen sich mit regulären HTML-Elementen nur äußerst schwer erledigen.
