4. Daemons at a Glance

Generally, there are only two main types of daemons: daemons (root) and user agents (user).

For convenience, in the following chapters, we will use Apple’s terminology and classification of the daemons. This classification considers specifics of installation, registration, permissions, and restrictions of the daemons when categorizing them.

We will cover the following terms (all of them are daemons/user agents):

• Daemons
