or 10 years I’ve been working with a wide
variety of IoT hardware, mostly sourced from
China, and I’ve been on a sort of quest to get to
know the capabilities, price, and availability of
every low-cost sensor, display, MCU, and camera.
This has been useful for my work as a consultant
and also for my personal projects. Since the
purchases are usually out of pocket, I tend to
focus on the lowest-priced hardware. After
acquiring the devices, I try my best to write
easy-to-use software to control them. This
