I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Management Changes When You Stabilize Something About Your Projects
Fixing something about your projects has a sobering effect on management. Once you’ve made the decision to fix a timebox, you can’t change it. You can’t reduce or increase the timebox duration without creating obstacles for the team, because you’ve destroyed their velocity as well as removed their ability to measure it. You can’t ask people to put in overtime for the same reason. Once you’ve prevented a team from measuring their velocity, they have no idea where they are, and neither do you.
